In this quick video tutorial, you’ll learn to create these gorgeous, bouncy waves on clip-in extensions.
This is a no-heat process that will prolong the life of your extensions and help retain pigments in the color.
Especially the popular direct-dye fashion colors like these magenta ones I colored. Excess heat fades those ones the fastest!
Setting Lotion – Biolage Curl Defining Elixir
The setting spray or lotion you use is important. Many such products are designed to be heat activated. Because this technique does not employ the use of heat tools, a basic setting lotion or light gel/spray work best. Biolage Curl Defining Elixir is one of my favorites for this. It has a nice amount of slip for manipulating the hair and dries soft with a flexible hold. Just a tiny bead of the gel for each section though. Too much of any product will be more of a hindrance than a help.
Extensions – Full Shine human hair extensions
These deluxe clip-in extensions come in a huge range of lengths and colors. They are top notch quality made with 100% human hair. This means they can be colored and are safe to use with all heat styling tools.
Handling Caddy – Hair Works Extension Style Caddy
Washing and styling clip-in extensions can be challenging without a way to anchor them in place. This extension caddy is the perfect accessory to hold your pieces in place. The suction cups stick to any smooth surface and the clamp system secures the sections so they won’t misbehave while you work with them. There are hooks on the back so this unit can be attached to a hanger for storing your extensions. They even include a velvet bag to store extensions for travel.
